Doddington Housing Development

Doddington Housing Development

Evolving over a series of planning applications made over a three-year period, this select housing development addressed a direct and identified need of the Doddington estate to accommodate essential workers for the diversified Doddington estate activities. This initial scheme was developed right up to the point of planning submission for the change in planning policy meant that the scheme could no longer proceeding a compliant manner. Further developments in planning policy but that the village now fell outside of any automatic entitlement to new housing so that the proposal fell direct conflict with local plan policy (all of the permitted development allocation having been used-up) further 18 months of discussion negotiation redesign with the LPA and consultation with all parties concerned (including Heritage England) resulted in this highly successful scheme which has been fully-let since completion. The scheme utilises high quality materials to secure an appropriate estate housing type development with a consistent aesthetic theme throughout. The modest proposal which sits comfortably within the village setting yet addresses, info, the client requirement for essential workers housing.
